FlexLogger KPA amp KAT tuner, and W2 wattmeter users

Hi FlexLogger users,

If you are using a KPA amp or KAT tuner and are using the FlexLogger interfaces for those devices I wanted to know the general feelings about meter.

I converted the SPE amp form to use small meters.  It now looks like this:

I am curious if changing the meters for the KPA amp and KAT tuner to use meters like this would be desired by those who are using these panels.

Also the next version will add support for the Elecraft W2 meter.  I am thinking of converting the W2 panel to use the same kinds of meters.

Any thoughts?

I am trying to get a version of FlexLogger (renamed to FRLogger) out by Sunday.

Although I am not running the amps in the demo, I am way looking forward to the New, Updated, and ReNamed version coming out as I am loving the FlexLogger (FRLogger) software here Mark. I have almost decided to drop any other logger I use here (N1MM+being one), as for my general operating FRLogger is fantastic. I would like to see config windows for other log upload possibilities. I use, for example: LOTW, QRZ, Eqsl and ClubLog when I upload my adifs. Is that doable or am I missing something that is already there?.. Thanks again for all your hard work on this fantastic piece of coding. And, whatever you do, don't drop the record/playback audio piece as it is an excellent way to keep and replay audio for obvious reasons and it is tons simpler than trying to use Audacity to do the same stuff. One example of how I display it here:

Thanks Jim!

It is my goal to make FRLogger the goto logger for Flex users.  I would like to work hand-in-hand with DX Lab Suite and SliceMaster for extended abilities.  However I want the program to be powerful enough stand-alone  for most users.

Currently in V0.1.0.5 you can:

Upload and check status from LOTW.   See configuration to input your LOTW criteria and see the QSL type of the log list panel where you can send out LOTW QSOs and check the status.

In configuration you can setup upload to QRZ.com and ClubLog as well as HRDLog.
There are settings there for eQSL however I've been able to get that one to work.  Even using their example code it simply returns an error.  I've tried numerous support requests and gotten no help.  I will not drop it but I don't think it will come soon.

The database manager can be used to export QSO records in ADIF format so you can send them off anywhere you wish.

Thank you for the Information on the log upload stuff I did get LOTW to work I think, and perhaps QRZ but I'll look at it again and see if I can expand on that. Anxiously awaiting Sunday in hopes of the new FRLogger becoming available !! Thanks!

Love the analog style meters.

Don’t forget eQSL in the upload features.

eQSL is built in, however it does not work and I have tried virtually every support angle with eQSL and get zero help.

They have an example API page.  I have actually tried to send the exact example on their page and get an error.

So I think it will eventually work, it is going to be a slow process.

I prefer the smaller bar graphs as they allow for a smaller window.

I think the small meters would be easier to read for me than the current style.  Keep up the good work. Looking forward to the new version.

Nice work Mark. Personally I like the bar meters better and they take up less room so you can make the window smaller. If possible give the option of either?

Also, I connect the KAT and KPA to the USB ports on the 6400. Is there a way to pass the options in the KAT and KPA tabs to the components when connected to USB on the radio?

Thanks!

Hi Scott,

Let me see about the option.

There is no way tor an external piece of software to send data through the USB ports on the radio.

Hi Mark:

I have not been following the thread for a long while, since the previous debate about
picking a new name for the logger.   Where are things at with that?
Are you guys aware that the name "FlexLogger" has been a trademark of
National Instruments for several years now?

and yes, I love your interface design!

Cheers

Hi Chris,

Any way you could send me your ADIF file?

I have imported over 500,000 records just to ensure it works.  But these were imported in smaller chunks.

I think the issue is that FRLogger is trying to read all that stuff in and give you an option to review it.   I will add an option to simply import it without the review option.

Let me know if you can zip and send your log.  If not I'll generate a random one here with 80 k plus records and ensure it works.

If you cannot zip and send your log then can you send me like 10 records so I can see what fields are in use?

Chris,

I added a direct import and made a gigantic ADIF file of a bunch of copies of other ADIF entries.

I told FRLogger to import and so far it's going through 160,000 QSOs.

It takes quite some time but it will eventually get all those QSOs in place.
