Cannot find the words to describe the new FLEX SmartSDR v1.1. Installation was easy and quick if you follow Tim's directions. EXCELLENT job FLEX.

Kudos for a great new update and a simple install process:

    1) While Downloading software, delete all CAT ports (but remember what they were),

    2) Close and uninstall everything - SmartSDR, CAT, DAX

    3) Reboot Computer

    4) Cold Boot/Factory Reset 6000 rig

    5) Extract and install Smart SDR

    6) Reboot computer, just for safety sake

    7) Run SmartSDR, wait for 6000 to upgrade

    8) Run CAT Setup

    9) Install DAX - Be sure to go to the audio properties for each of the four audio paths on each DAX Channel - (RX, Reserved RX, TX, Reserved TX) and the DAX IQ channels and set "advanced" properties for 16 bit, stereo, 48,000 samples (DVD Quality).  Deactivate DAX Channels that will be unused (5-8 for 6500's) if you want to clear up some clutter.

    10) Re-make CAT Ports

    11) Have fun!

The whole process, except for setting properties and deactivating DAX channels (I forgot) took about 20 minutes and went flawlessly on my Win 8.1 machine.   Of course, step 11 is going to take a while!  hi hi.

I am writing from memory from what I did last night.  Then I was up 'till 2 AM testing things out.

    Having fun now!
