Flex CAT ports causing issues with Icom ???

I am somewhat skeptical...  but RT Systems Tech Support is speculating that installations of SmartSDR CAT may be the cause for their software not working with an Icom that I have.  All software that I have (Fldigi, WSJTX, DXLAB, etc) works fine with the Icom but the RT System software cannot open the comm port installed by the Icom drivers. Thus, the RT system softare cannot perform its main function. RT Systems remote accessed my PC and spent quite some time trouble shooting and are puzzled by unique "identifiers" that my VSP's provide. They assume that Flex software is causing this. Does Flex software use usual "identifiers" when installing virtual ports . ?

I use RT systems for my Kenwood TS480 and TH-F6 both are serial devices with no problems. I know they are not ICOM, but CAT is running on the same system. As long as I don't put a CAT  on top of the RT System serial selection all is well.

RT System wrote an update to address my problem and now it works OK.  I doubt Flex CATS caused the issue. Flex CATS have never caused issues with other CAT accessing software.
