Flex 6300 and LAN

I have posted a question relating to being unable connect my 6300 to the Flexradio site to register/update my radio to SmartSDR.
My current set up is with the 6300 using a local connection by the Ethernet cable to the network port on my computer.  The computer is then connected to the internet by a wireless adapter to the network.
I assume that for the radio to be recognised on the LAN it must be plugged in to a switch or directly to the router to work ?
Thanks
Glenn

As you have determined, that configuration does not work.  You have to configure the PC to be a wireless bridge.

This is covered in the HelpDesk

Or, the best solution, if you can do it, is to connect the radio directly to the router or to an Ethernet switch connected to the router.
