Fldigi setup question?

I just recently updated to the newest version of fldigi. I had it working before the update. I have done everything I can think of . I am following the setup recommendation in the windows flex 2.**** operating manual. I have tried looking at YouTube videos . They show the same setup I have tried. I have no cat control, I recieve fine, but frequency does not change in smartsdr. I am also not able to transmit while using fldigi. Can anyone post pics of their setup to include dax setup. Thanks all. - I am running. Flex 6300 Software version 2.49 Fldigi version 4.1.01 I have downloaded and am using smartsdr_slicea.xml I have created a com port 4 for setup.

Hi!  I am running flrig with fldigi have you tried that? I have no issues with that setup. I have the 6300.

I am using RigCat on a single COM port for Frequency data and PTT.  Fldigi runs on slice C.

The xml file is the same as the "A" file I think you already have.

Have you tried re-loading SmartSDR.xml again it shows it's there but in my case it wasn't. That happened to me twice after up dates.

I tried that, and I have the same configuration as what you are showing.

I will try that this evening. I know I deleted and reinstalled those files, but from the same place. So, i will try finding 5hem somewhere else this time.

The SmartSDR XML files I am using were written by Tim Ellison (according to the comments in them). There is one per slice, but they appear to be the same except for text headers and titles.

Does your SmartCAT panel say "Slice Not Present" to the right or "Process: fldigi" at the bottom? This indicates if it is connected or not to fldigi.

My next step would be to use a terminal program like Putty and connect to COM4 (or whatever CAT port is configured). If you don't get "unable to open connection to..." then type ZZFA; (no carriage return) and the radio should respond with something like ZZFA00003918000; (the numbers are the frequency of the connected slice).

They are not the same actually. The commands are specific to SliceA and SliceB but it has been my experience that you should always use the SliceA file. Even if you are connected to Slice C or D, it will work with the Slice A commands because the CAT port is bound that that slice. I wasn't able to get the SliceB file to work at all.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor.
