I wish to thank Tim for his help in solving my filter.txt problem, the help desk is extremely useful.
With Tim's help I found the problem with filter.txt. I had the file named as filter.txt.txt easy to do if using a text editor, but unfortunately the file doesn't work when named like that.
Now back to using the 500 and the 6700 together.

Windows hiding the file extensions by default was one of their more assine moves, IMHO.

Tim,
At least you can easily fix the file extension setting. My vote for worst change is the new update strategy. You dont get to see what is installed until after it is done. I prefer to pick and choose what is installed, at least for the driver updates and other non-essential changes.

For the record, I'm generally happy with Win10 though.
