The standard mic for the 6400M/6600M is the FHM-2.

On the top of the mic are three buttons DWN, FST, UP.  I cannot find any reference to their function and how to enable it in the manual.  Do they do anything?

Not active with the Flex I don't believe. It is the same mic Yaesu uses and of course they are active with Yaesu

Really?  You got to be kidding me?  Did Flex get a closeout price on Yaesu mic's that someone mistakenly printed with the Flex branding?  You would think a company that wants to be recognized for a professional product would not throw in the box a mic that has buttons that serve no function.  That is the kind of stunt I would expect from a Chinese knock-off company.

The buttons do work when connected to the 8-pin Foster connector to tune up and down.

The buttons do work! But on a Flex it is a very cumbersome way to tune.
