Factory Reset Question

When doing a Factory Reset, does the Nickname and Callsign fields not get cleared in the Radio Identification section of the Radio Tab?

I have just done a Factory Reset trying to track down an issue I'm having, and noticed that while other things have seemed to be reset, these two items are as I had them set tem.

    Steve,

    Correct, they don't get changed.

    Thanks Mack!

Figured that was the case, but wanted to double check.

So it's NOT a factory reset then ;-) Will it clear the network settings and fall back to DHCP if it was static before the reset?

You can't set a static IP address on the radio. It is DHCP only.

with 3.3.39 there is a bug, if you set it static ip for the radio on the M series at least its not going to use the correct net mask for example if you set the net mask to 255.255.255.0 its going to set it to 255.255.255.248 so forget getting smart link to work, also at the same time you set the ethernet ip (front panel), now you want to go back to dhcp you can't completely, it will clear the static ip for the radio and switch it back to dhcp, but there is no way to clear the ip for the front panel. and a factory reset will not fix it. the front panel will be stuck at a static ip, all you can do is change it but you will not be able to go back to dhcp
