I'm setting up my new 6300. Got SSDR working great (so far). Now I'll work on setting up PSK31 and perhaps other digital modes. I see a lot of questions and info on here about ddutil. Do I need it?
I would like to use the old log program I'm still using so it can pickup the band/freq info. Do I need it for that? It used CAT before on PSDR.
Thanks, Dave KD5FX

Hi Dave!

I don't use it.  SmartSDR CAT does all you need.

Thanks, Mike! You on the air this evening? I'll be home in an hour, 3:30 PM CDT. Maybe a sked?

Think of DDUTIL as a traffic cop

It sorts out all sorts of stuff fir u

I use it to control rotors, amps, wattmeters, SteppIR, etc.

It also allows me to use multiple different program's at the same time withiout port conflicts.

Hard to imagine why U would nit use it.
