Welcome aboard, Baz. Yes, absolutely any sound card enabled app will work (better!) using the Flex and DAX. It's a matter of changing the audio ins and outs to DAX devices, and using SmartCAT instead of a physical COM port. Use the DIGU mode instead of USB.

I dont think that DIGIPAN will support CAT for transmit.  This is a quote from WM2U Digipan workshop.  I loved the program and used it on my ts590,signaLink USB and a lot of cables.

"....A comment about CAT control:  If you are trying to achieve PTT with DigiPan and CAT, be aware that DigiPan does not support PTT by CAT command......"

VOX, in that case, is a viable option.

I have been using fldigi for a couple of years now because I like having RTTY and other digital modes.  I use to use Digipan.  I loaded it again last night and had it running in less than 5 min. using VOX to key.  If all you want to run is PSK, it is a quick and easy program.

I agree with Roger, but I use Fldigi for all digital modes except RTTY where I use MMTTY which seems to me to have superior decoding.
