DAX observations

Here are a few observations after a week of using DAX. 1) It is wonderful to be back on digital, and is very clean! 2) It is nice to be able to have multiple slices set up with different levels so that I don't have to readjust them all the time. 3) Once they fix the auto-switching between BAL/Mike and DAX upon PTT then this is really going to be nice for the contests with Voice-Keyer, or while doing SSTV/EasyPal and needing to switch back and forth between mike and digital! But in the "need to fix it" category... A) If I have one slice open on DAX channel 1 and open another one, it takes over the DAX channel and send the original one to "none." I don't like that, because it knocks me off of my digital channel when I open a new slice to monitor some SSB stations or hunt DX. I would prefer it if the new slice opened a new DAX channel. (Or perhaps it was just remembering the setting the last time I opened the band?) If that is the case, then I may just have to deal with conflicting priorities in persistence.) B) Even though I have only 2 slices right now on my 6500, it would be nice to be able to use more than 2 DAX streams and have them automatically adjusted and available to the many different Digi programs I use so that I don't have to constantly adjust them... only select the DAX channel associated with that program/mode. C) There are some times when the TX control on DAX 1 doesn't work well. This is already documented and will be fixed in a later update. But it is annoying. DAX 2 doesn't seem to have the same problem. The bottom line, understanding that this release is a beta and I expect a few bugs.... AWESOME. Thanks a lot. It has already added good value to my new rig. When they get the remaining kinks straightened out, it will be really fun! Thanks to the Flex team...
