DAX channels 1,2 &3 not working, 4 thru 8 are working.

DAX channels 1,2 &3 not working, 4 thru 8 are working. This happens often when I boot up and the only fix that I have found is another boot up. Is there any way to shut down the DAX program and restart it without the reboot. I can shut down the control panel but the DAX program continues to run (as it should) but I have not found anyway to "end" the actual program short of a total shut down. This DAX problem happens about 2 or 3 times a week on my 6700 WIN 8.1 setup. This problem has exsisted for me since the first version of DAX was released, does not seem to be related to the SSDR version (1.2.17.35)

Should be dead easy - standard Windows stuff. I do not use Win 8.1 - I have it on one computer but hate it.

Load task manager and you will see all the programs that are running. It should be obvious which programs/processes are associated with dax - just close them down. Then conform that DAX is not working.

Then you need to find the program file to run to load DAX again. I have not yet got my FlexRadio so am not familiar with the layout of the Flexradio software.

Yes, just shut down the DAX application using the EXIT option from the system tray DAX icon (right click on the icon).  Just closing the control panel by using the window close controls (red X in the top right hand corner) will not shut down DAX.

Then start the DAX control panel app up again.  If this doesn't work, then the issue is not with the DAX interface, but with the DAX sound device driver and in that case the only option is a PC reboot.

Thanks for the responce Tim. Shuting DAX down and restarting it does fix the DAX channels missing problem, most of the time. Sometimes it takes several restarts to get it right. But the real problem is why are the channels missing in the first place. On my system channels 1,2 & 3 don't start on a fairly often basis. HP I7 WIN 8.1 laptop (high end), 1080 display, computer driving 2 extra 1080 monitors. Works well most of the time but there are some screen freezes on SSDR (usually once every day). I have the latest video driver installed (from Intel not HP). I don't think the freezes have any connection to the missing DAX channels.

Also to DrTeeth thanks for reminding me of the task manager I completly forgot that avenue of control.

On the DAX not working. As Tim as commented . Start up / shut down is important.

I removed any past edition of flex software.Made absolutely sure that there were no remnants and re loaded only the latest Flex software . This also solved (For Me) any issues with not working correctly .

Since I was not using DAX 1,2,3 during Any Digi communications  Only 6,  this issue  was invisible.

I have both a windows 7 and windows 8 machines . They all now work 100 % using DAX  1,2,3,

    The problem is HP.
