DAX and Audacity = Great way to recoed off air...

If you haven't tried it, you can use Audacity, set it up to record at 48000 and record stations off the air via a DAX channel. I tried to play back, but when I tried to key the rig with my footswitch I found that it mutes the DAX input. But if I "export" the Audacity recording to a file and load it into K9DUR's Voice Keyer program I can play the file back over their air by switching the transmit audio selection to DAX. Now I have one of the K9DUR Voice Keyer puttons pointed to a fale called "QuickRecord" and can simply record>save>switch input>and play the file. But then when I want to use the mike, I have to click it back to BAL to continue the conversation. It is a bit klunky, but it is a quick and dirty way of doing digital record/playback. Now if only we could transmit with audio from DAX without switching the mike input back and forth...... Could it be made so that DAX audio can always be available if needed but muted whenever the mike or footswitch PTT is activated? This would make the Voice Keyer program work, too.
