DAX Driver error because I enabled the Mic Stream

I have seen many variants of this in the community, but not my exact one.  I do not want to go through all that install/reinstall stuff unless I need to.  Because of how I got here, I am more than half suspicious that the install/reinstall will do nothing.

Here's what's happening.  I was struggling to configure MMSSTV because it stopped working on receive (still don't know why).  That's another problem for another day.

I decided to enable the "Mic Stream" which I probably never did before.  Once I did so, I got DAX Driver Error  ("An error has occurred when trying to open a DAX sound device...").

Well, I'm not going to say whether I should have gotten that or not.

What I will says that now the "Mic Stream" button has been replaced by a red OFF button with greyed out text.  All I really want to do is go back to the original state--that is, not try to turn this on anymore.

But, it seems to be stuck.  It seems to remember that I tried to enable this and whenever I restart DAX it does so, gives me the nasty message, and that's that.

If there is some .ini file or registry entry where I can reset this, that would be the ideal solution.  I was just "trying things out" and don't really need this.

DAX nows seems broken after a reboot.  Now the "red" has spread everywhere.

So, what to do?

Running 1.11.1

Well, it appears that doing the DAX uninstall/reinstall cleared it.

Ugh.  But at least there's an answer!
