THe CWX panel in FlexLogger is far superior to CWX in SmartSDR. Download FlexLogger and give it a try.

If the problem is CWX, how does Flex Logger get around the problem Roger mentions?

The CWX panel that is built into FlexLogger does not depend on CWX in SmartSDR.  It sends CW directly to the radio and really works well.  At least in my version of firmware which is 2.4.9. Not sure how it will work with 1.x firmware but it's worth a try.

This problem has been around for a while. I stopped using CWX or the built-in WinKeyer so I don't know if it was ever fixed in more recent versions. Version 1.11.12 is pretty darn old isn't it?

I have a separate WinKeyer USB. It has the buttons for quick macros, integrates well with N1MM and no stuttering.

The stuttering CW was fixed in 2.4.9.  I have not had any issues since upgrading.  It was pretty bad before that though.

Agreed - I've had the stuttering problem since one of the mid 1.x releases, and with the latest 2.4x it has not recurred.  I did have another problem (runaway dits) during the ARRL DX contest, but I'll write that up separately.

There is no features in 2.4x that interest me.  I would think one should be reacquired to buy a fix for a long time bug.  I thought this was not how bug fixes were suppose to work
