CW Skimmer with V1.1 using the SoftRock-IF Hardware type

Dan / W5UN,
Here is the setup I'm using for CW Skimmer.   It uses the SoftRock-IF hardware type and the CAT commands.  The snapshots are below.

After it is setup, to synch the panadapter and slice frequency you use the panadapter zoom buttons.  This 3 button sequence will synch them after tuning the slice: press the plus, minus, plus.  The reason to use the 3 button sequence is to return the zoom back to where you were originally as well as snych the panadapter and slice frequencies.   It's a work around but pretty easy to do.  You can tune the slice from the mouse, flexcontrol or by clicking in the skimmer screen.  Then do the 3 button sequence to synch it up.

There are other and better long term solutions but this seems to work okay for working DX splits.  The CW Skimmer program can be enhanced to better support the FLEX and this will be the best solution but may take a while.  See this posting  (link below)  for another tuning option that would also correct the issue.

Here are the snapshots for my setup.  Again, this works for me but is not the most efficient long term solution.  If you give it a try, let me know what you think.

Thanks Al. This works perfectly for me. Like you, I await a final solution, either by FRS or the CWskimmer guy. We need to encourage FRS to pursue the fixed center slice, moving background approach. I wonder if they even thought about this in the initial design.

Dave,
Glad to hear it works for you and sorry I mis-typed your name in the title.

We'll have to see if FRS will consider adding the "fixed center slice"  tuning option.   They usually don't comment on the feasibility or likelihood of enhancements but it can't be that hard to do as others have done it before.   Beside solving the skimmer issue, it's a nice tuning option they can offer.  And maybe FRS can deliver it sooner than a more elaborate solution from CW Skimmer.  Probably also depends on how many pluses (+) it gets too.
