Is compression inoperative on SSDR Beta v1.0.5? Don't do much phone, but during a QSO yesterday, the RX station reported no apparent changes, compression 0 vs compression full scale. Yes, the blue button was on.

The compression feature is actually working in beta 1.0.5 when the button is engaged. However, the horizontal compression indicator is not operating like it did in v1.0.0. If you were using compression with v1.0.0 and remembered your setting, simply taking the slider to the same value will put you in the ballpark. I use the monitor to set mine and it does make a difference when you have the compression button engaged.

If you cannot see a improvement with the compression on take power off your radio and do a hard reset and reboot the smart sdr. If that does not work uninstall the smart sdr and reload.

Also keep in mind that when changing the compression setting, it takes about 2-3 seconds after you change the setting for it to take effect. LIke K5UX, I use the monitor to set mine and you can definitely tell it's working. My LP-100A wattmeter will show peak to avg ratio and give you a readout of the compression ratio, I've got mine set for ~10dB, so I know it's working. :) Flex just needs to get the meter working again on the next release.
