CAT won't connect

Hi everyone,

I just got a new W10 Pro computer from Neal Campbell to replace my old computer that was running W7 Pro. The old computer had finally ingested enough updates that DAX and CAT had begun to function properly so I was able to play with my new 6600 for a few weeks before the new computer arrived.

The new computer works great except CAT shows that it is not connected to the radio. DAX is working OK. I had installed v2.1.33 on my 6600 prior to receiving the new computer. Neal had pre-installed v2.1.32 on the computer and I did not notice this when I first hooked everything up. When I noticed that CAT wasn't connected I also noticed it said it was v2.1.32 so I stopped and downloaded v2.1.33 onto the new computer and installed it. After rebooting CAT now shows the correct version but still will not connect.

If I try to setup a PTT port for MMTTY the port on the CAT form will show "mmtty" on the form but MMTTY will not key the radio and it still says it is not connected to the radio.

Radio is connected directly to an ASUS router (wired). Computer is connected to the same router (also wired). I have made no changes to any router settings. The router is a new ASUS RT-N12. There is nothing else connected.

Can anyone help me get CAT working?

Thanks, Mark K5XH

Tip of the hat to Neal. Nice system and very fast. I had given up on W10 but he talked me into trying again.

There is a CAT option to auto connect that is set by default.  If this PC connected to a different radio, then this might be your issue.  Mouse over the "Radio Not Connected" message and doing a right mouse click will bring up the menu.  Uncheck both options.
