Can PowerSDR and Smart SDR Coexist on the Same Computer?

I am helping a friend who is trying to switch between his Flex 3000 and Flex 6300.  Both will work fine if he switches between SmartSDR and PowerSDR when using the corresponding rig.  The problem is CAT control.  I believe that PowerSDR was installed first and the com ports are those that were whatever program does the virtual serial ports.  He is able to use his logging program with all of the data being transmitted to the program from the radio, and vice versa.

When he switches to SmartSDR and tries to use the same comm port with the same program, it doesn't work.  My guess is that virtual serial ports that were created by one program aren't compatible with SmartSDR CAT.

Has anyone tried to have the two programs coexist on the same computer and, if so, have you had any virtual com port compatibility issues?

Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

Absolutely, when I still had my 5000 I used it along with my 6000 series.

Did you have any CAT issues using the same logging program?

Yes.  No issue with CAT (the com port assignments have to be different)

Yes, it worked just fine. Like Tim said, just no duplicates.

Thanks, Tim and Phillip.  I need to find my copy of Virtual Serial Port, which I haven't used for years since I got my 6300.
