Can Not Open The SmartSDR CAT Console (v 1.3.0)

I just downloaded the SmartSDR v1.3.0 software installer this afternoon and although everything appeared to install correctly (I was confused as to whether I was supposed to manually uninstall the existing CAT software so I did .... figuring that it would be equivalent to a new installation on a system that did not already have an older version of SmartSDR installed).

SmartSDR v1.3.0 appears to come up just fine ('talks' to the radio) but when I try and bring up the interface console for SmartSDR CAT it does not appear. There is a momentary notice at the bottom right side of my PC monitor (I also have an HDMI interface to a large screen TV hooked up to my PC) that says a connection has been made (and it gives an IP Address) but nothing else. If I run Task Mgr (my OS is Win 7 Pro 64-bit) it shows both SmartSDR and CAT are running.

Could I be doing something wrong ? (with the previous SmartSDR v1.2.17 installation the CAT console came up just like it was supposed to).

Paul - first off, I am glad that everything is working properly now.

Starting with the last version of SmartSDR CAT (v1.2.17) you do not have to uninstall CAT to get the new version any more.  As per the release notes you only have to uninstall and reboot your PC before installing a new version of SmartSDR if and only if your installed version of CAT is version 1.2.10 or below.  Since you were previously running CAT v1.2.17, an uninstall was unnecessary.  I suspect that you either did not uninstall CAT and reboot the PC before installing SmartSDR v1.3.  The order things are done is very important.  If this gets done out of sync, it usually takes a few reboots of the PC and the radio to get everything back in sync as John indicted.

For future releases, do not uninstall CAT unless you are explicitly instructed to do so to minimize the possibility of getting the drivers out of sync resulting in unnecessary frustration.
