I am trying to connect someone remotely to a 6600 for this weekends contest. I sent him a pc that was fully step up test and connected to the remote. The only variable is his network.

I am getting a hesitation when we log into smart link after 15-30 seconds the callsign populates and the radios chooser comes up and allows us to select the correct radio. After selecting to radio it connects but there is no pan adapter or waterfall is just a dead SDR screen.

When testing the smart link connection I get a failure I am seeing the on several of the workstation we’re are onnecting. Most work but some are not. These are all cable modems running through a router

Anyone have any ideas on what to do next

Can you tell if the rig has a correct IP address on the LAN where it is set up?  I have seen a similar issue to the one you describe when the rig has failed to obtain an IP address via DHCP.  Discovery still works, but SmartSDR hangs on startup because it cannot route to the invalid IP that is broadcast as part of the discovery protocol.

You can tell what IP address has been assigned to the rig by mousing over it in the chooser.   In my station, when it fails to get a valid IP it substitutes a 169.* address.

Also, if you are using SmartLink it may make sense to reboot the router as an added precaution.
