Boy did I have a scare

Boy did I get a scare. I had been at the operating desk. SSDR running, all systems connected to DXLabs, Online, and just monitoring the 20 meter JT band segment.

DXL Commander was displaying the same info as SSDR was displaying in the Rig portion of the display.

I decided to change bands, which can be done by selecting the appropriate band-frequency from WSJT-x drop down list.

Bam, nothing, Commander went blank, no signal display, no sound, nada.

Shut down and tried to reboot. Still no connection to DXLabs programs, no frequency display in SSDR.

The led on the Flex 6.5 was blinking a sort of dull orange. That worried me....What does Orange light indicate?

Reboot, Flex restart failed, then just quit and shut down.

Restart Flex, and all of a sudden, the system repaired itself, rig regained connection to the computer. The Flex regained it's pretty blue indicator light.

But....wait no decoding in WSJT as the audio is was too low, barely breaking the baseline, not getting enough signal through to WSJT to decode.

It's like DAX doesn't have enough gain. Checked DAX, sure enough, DAX RX Stream 1 was off, Now I have decodes again.

I seem to be back in business, but no idea how DAX got turned off, and why I couldn't connect to Commander.

Absolutely totally perplexed as to what caused this...

Any brother Flexonians ever encounter this type of occurrence?

Hi Bill,

Here is an old post that points to the manual page about the LED signal light:

I also monitor the WSJT transmissions and flip "the channel" using the WJST app directly.  Never had such a condition occur.

A different 3rd party app has put the 6500 into a state where no audio was output from the speaker / earphone or remote.  That required a power cycle on the radio to resolve. That only happened with one particular app however.
