I have created an application that allows the Behringer PL-1 DJ midi controller to be used with the flex 6000 series SDR. This application is given free of charge with no expressed warranty of any kind. The source code is included, and you are welcome to modify it however you see fit. I created this for my own person use, and would like to share it with the group.
The program is written in the processing IDE. It utilizes the TCPIP API to communicate with the radio.
Here is the layout

The application and source can be downloaded here:

I use the Behringer CMD Micro, which is better IMHO, as it has 2 turntables.
Last working software link for the CMD micro is

Jay, you could write to Don W3XY, who should have the software for the PL1. He is on QRZ.com. There are also other OM here on the forum, who wrote about the PL1.

Thanks Alex. I ordered one in hoping I could find it out there somewhere. I will give Don a try. I looked on here in the foreman but none of the links work. I did find a link for the midi dual control but they stopped making them and can’t find one of them unless it is way over prices
Thanks again
Jay

I know. I posted it on a couple different places. No body has it. But it would be nice. I bout it before I had the software. Maybe I should have waited. I could have saved some money. I see the software for the dual deck but not the PL-1

CMDPL1Flex6k_v0_3.zip and this may be a old version, I don't know but, I'm sure the first part of the file name is correct.

Hi Jay, any chance you could send me a link to download this program? I had a copy a while ago, but can't find it now that I actually have a MIDI controller to try it with.
Thanks, Gil

Hello
I have a question. Is this soft working properly. Is it worth buying this Behringer PL1?
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1U-RjjdeDwh6W51mGnEP6H22Ay2GkSUmA/view
Or maybe it's better to invest in N4PY software Pegasus Plus http://www.n4py.com/ & Behringer CMD Micro or Behringer Studio 2A DJ Controller ?
SQ8N Pawel.

That software hasn't been updated in four years. It may work since it doesn't depend on the Flex API'S . It uses ethernet based commands and responses that can be found on FRS's website.( under software development)
There are probably commands that have been changed.
If so, you would have to write your own software for the Behringer.

I just purchased the Behringer PL-1 DJ midi controller off the QRZ.com swapmeet.
I also downloaded the old version 0.3 software file shown above.
When I receive the controller sometime next week, I will try the old software on
my Flex setup and see if it works. My Flex 6600 is running v2.4.9, so we will see
how much has changed in the ethernet command protocol over the last 4 years.

More info;
William Hemmingsen, the original author, apparently does not wish to be contacted.
His profile on this forum omits his call sign. I was going to email him to ask a few questions,
like if version 0.3 was the latest he ever did, and also what the "Processing IDE" is, since the source
file looks like Java source.
Anyway, even though his profile omits his call sign, he signed one of his posts on these forums
with his call. I went to QRZ.com and looked it up. He is still active, but lists no email in his bio
on qrz.com.
So, if this needs any updates for current versions of SmartSDR, it is up to us to do so.
Good news, I downloaded the zero.3 version file that is linked above, un-zipped it, and
when I was done fighting with Norton Anti-virus to tell it I really did want to keep a 4 year
old file that had no reputation and zero users, I was finally able to execute the 64bit version
on my Windows 10 system. It does come up and start the user interface, even though I have
not received the Behringer controller yet. SO at least the existing EXE seems compatible with
windows 10, to the degree that it starts and looks like the controller. Obviously, more testing
is needed when I receive the midi controller shipment next week.
Final note tonight, after looking at the source code and playing with google, I think the
two source code files might be used with this development environment: https://processing.org/
Cheers,
Neal
