Back to 2.3.9

My 6300 doesn't like 2.4.9:

- DAX won't transmit. Audio in present into the radio (shows on mic audio level meter on the SSDR client) and the rig transitions to transmit but no power out or transmitted signal shown on the display.

- [PC Audio] goes to sleep. After a variable amount of time PC audio mutes and no longer comes out of the computer speakers. Cured only by rebooting radio at which time it comes back without touching anything else.

The human in charge (me) doesn't like 2.4.9:

- The S meter change is nice but who decided DIGU no longer needed 3.0khz as one of the filters on the filter selection panel? 3.0 is the width of choice for FT8. 2.0 is too narrow, 6.0 is, under most conditions, unnecessarily wide.

All has returned to well after back grade to 2.3.9.

Bill,

Thanks, but I'll pass.
As I noted above "All has returned to well after back grade to 2.3.9."

That's to bad you won't accept help. There are many things improved under the hood you will miss out on.

I recommend using a 5kHz filter for FT8/JT65/JT9 and implement that in a profile. This way you don't need a 3kHz button for DIGU. FRStack helps a lot with it's global profile buttons. I made profiles for all modes and bands.

Profiles will work for setting custom RX width.

Also try memories. You can edit the RX high and low cut. You can create a memory for each FT8 frequency you use.

I had similiar problems
Only fixed by un-installing SDR 2.4.9 about five times.....each time the DAX had pro blems. Only resolved by removing and re-installing each DAX item individually using the un-install   re-install for each item that showed an error.  Also had to remove duplicate hidden (ghosted) audio items ....like double DAX Rx 1 in the Audio section of Device manager.  And rebooting each time until there were no further DAX errors on startup.   Tedious!!!

2:4:9 was solid for me in CQ WW RTTY this weekend. First contest that I put effort into.

SmartSDR 2:4:9

Win 10 latest slow ring Insider build. (Clean install of Win 10 a year ago)

Flex 6500

Latest N1MM+

MMTY with Two Tone and Gritty decoder windows.

Spent 14 hrs total of the 48 hr. contest.

No DAX issues at all.

Using an AMD Rizen 1700x cpu with Asrock AM4 motherboard. I am using Bose Companion 5 speakers via usb for PC audio. Wondering what is triggering DAX issues for some?
