I thought I'd try my thinnest client on my 6300 now that SSDR 1.4 REMOTE is available.

I loaded SmartSDR 1.4 on my ACER 1410 (11.6") notebook, Celeron processor, 1.2 GHz, 2 GB memory, 802.11g WiFi.

I kept losing contact with the 6300 over WiFi at first until I got it down to one panadapter, then got 5 bars REMOTE. It ran about 55% CPU utilization on the notebook. I switched to 10m and saw a frequency on the panadapter that looked like DX (short on/off sequences) so I tuned to it. It was CA3HSC in Santiago. I clicked ATU (OK), so I clicked MOX and he came back to me. I had no idea where the internal mic in the notebook was so I spoke into the keyboard, of course.

Of course I would prefer my big keyboard. FlexControl and two monitors in the shack, but the notebook would work well on the picnic table.

good for you, ron.  BTW, I DID upgrade all my local wifi to "AC" speed...just playing around w my old T-60, could get 4 pans, w my 6500, with a slower frame rate, FWIW..

1.4 is remarkable, IMHO...latency MUCH better on local wifi..
