Audio signal dynamic range

I have question regarding dynamic range of the audio signal of the my f6700 on rear panel jack. On screen shot AGC-T = 50, red line - ANT off, blue line - ANT1 with signal strength 59. Difference is roughly 20db, i guess we need to have 50-60db in case normal set of the AGC ? Can some body comment it ?

Lower your AGC-t. You should see an improvement in the dynamic range. You might even raise the RF gain (preamps). And lower the AGC-T. Even more .0

Doesn't this artificially make the radio less sensitive for weak signals? Greg0

Dudley, the issue in case AGC-t below 40-35 i lost a weak signals, raising of the RF gain with preamp decreasing of the RF dynamic range. You know narrow audio dynamic range gives a flat air and noise in this case always coming up, may be i am wrong, can you advise pls.0

It's actually beneficial (less listener fatigue) to set the AGC-T so that the very weakest signals and the noise are 10 to 20 dB lower in amplitude than the strongest signals. To my ears anyway, it doesn't reduce intelligibility and it greatly improves perceived fidelity.

Well Kevin, this is depends: you know human ears are very precise mechanism for audio signal selection not only with freq. but also with level and in case you hear many different signal(ex: contest/dx) this is very effective mechanism for selection desired signal, that i mean
