I just got my 6500.  I have in the shack an SP30H non-amplified speaker from Palstar.  I would love to hook it up to the Flex.   There are tons of inexpensive audio amps out on Ebay.  For example,

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lepai-Lepy-LP-2020A-Tripath-Class-D-Hi-Fi-Audio-Amplifier-w-Power-Supply-/19...  or

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Kinter-MA180-12V-MINI-Power-Car-Computer-Amplifier-USB-Port-Charging-Red-New...

Has anyone tried any of these amplifiers and found one that works well  and is not susceptible to RFI?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I have the little Lepai that's been feeding audio to my twin speakers 24/7 for over two years now.  No RFI, BUT - I do not have tuners in the shack.  I have a remote tuner, with chokes both at the antenna and inside the shack, and I do not run 2 KW, so I cannot testify to high power and some antenna feedline with 8:1 SWR coming into the shack,

But the little amp has worked for me.

Cheers

Bob,

I use a Yamaha mixer/preamp, since I already had it, and output to  powered speaker,  http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Rokit5G3,  a KRK Rockit5.  Although more expensive,  it has been a fabulous system and the powered speaker is shielded.  I bought the Rockit 5 from a pawn shop for about $80.00.

Thanks.  That speaker looks nice.Don't see to many shielded ones but maybe I need to use the phrase studio monitor.  Certainly looks better than a lot of the West Mountain and MFJ options.

I have been using the Lepai since I purchased the F3000, I have been using it on the 6500 for a couple of years now and with the KX3. It works very well. The power supply that came with it produced some noise, so I gave it the 9 lbs mallet rehab treatment before I threw it away. Insuring that it would never again become a violator. I run window line into shack and use a tuner. Oh, I have the same speaker you are using.

Good to know.  My intention was to run it off of the power supply and not the wart so no worries from that perspective.
Thanks and 73

I use COMspkr's from West Mountain Radio  $39  . They work great and no RFI.

Thanks.  Looks like it would be a good alternative if I hadn't alread spent the money on the SP30 H.
