The video says, "two receivers" but I believe it is two slices of the SAME receiver?

Not exactly. It is two "receivers" meaning these two slice "receivers" can go anywhere along the HF band. They are bound to the same SCU, thus linked to the SAME antenna.

I ripped it from YT and put it on my server for offline download pleasure.

It is nice he shows how the radio works, but I don't consider this a review. Sadly there isn't anyone in ham radio that does real reviews.

Some reviews in QST are adjacent ad for the reviewed product. Conflict of interest?

I have not gone through back issues, but in the February 2019 issue the closest ad of any sort to the product review section is 18 pages away.

About 9 months ago there was a review where the ad was right on the following page. It was a major item too. They rarely say anything critical if it is an advertiser.
