The APIs are available and so it the presentation video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LuWaStl0GgI&list=UUxqXFK9ETC5CWEdDD-_HpqA
and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lOvBo6Lq_Jk&list=UUxqXFK9ETC5CWEdDD-_HpqA

Will there be a different group for API related matters?

Now to control the imagination - So many options, so little time

We have an API category here now, but it was initially set to private. It appears we can't just make it public either. If we could, everyone would have to look at software Q&A even if they didn't care, so I'm not sure this is the right answer either. While we figure it out, if you want to be added to the API category, just let us know and we'll do it.

I am looking forward to the coming projects, realizable with the open API.

Even the examples look great and I am sure there will be some big things, rolled out in the next weeks.

When I first read the thread title, I was not aware, what a big step this is until I watched the linked videos! Just had a look on http://www.flexradio.com/amateur-products/flex-6000-signature-series/smartsdr-api/ to get an idea about the "big picture".

Thanks Flex!

Just watched both presentations. I am so glad to see FRS release these APIs in the Open! I believe, this will start a whole plethora of APPS (Both internal and external), some good, some bad; but, some GREAT.

As an example, I am really hoping the ham, who announced, during the Q&A that said he created a set of Matlab / Simulink functions / blocks (I hope I heard that right), puts them in the Open.

A real justification, to me, for choosing the Flex6x00 over any of the other radio.

I can't wait to see what grows out of this!

Thanks, again!

Oh, yeah! Tell Graham that the VMEbus is alive and well, the VMEbus is, by far, the most widely used bus architectures, in the defense industry. The AH1Z Cobra, UH1Y, and soon the UH60V all use the new Conduction Cooled VMEbus based Mission Computer from Northrop Grumman.

For everyone that has requested access to the API category -- it is now a public category so you can view and post to it.  We will likely be sending out information to everyone that has registered in the past or has registered on the new registration page (http://www.flexradio.com/amateur-products/flex-6000-signature-series/smartsdr-api/ and then click the "sign up" tab).  While this is not required, we don't know who to send info to if you do not take the time to register so we recommend that you register if you are interested in receiving development updates.
