i forgot to mention, although you may have looked me up on qrz.com, that i live about 8 miles southeast of Sharpsburg, MD. i'm in the country and my noise level on most bands is less than S3.

Maybe with someone losing their blimp, they had to crank up the old HF radar - but that does look like a pretty complicated waveform - much more than the usual chirp - but I do not know much about the latest HF echo signature analysis.

Hope they find another set of frequencies to use - leave us poor ham-bones alone.

Cheers

Same here in Texas. May be an OTH (over the horizon) radar. My beam is pointed toward Northern Europe. Over the pole from me.

ohhh  Texas !

Take a look at what seems to be 200 miles SW of you . .. . .    its the transmitter site, I think

but certainty not north, so maybe its not them.

Google earth gives you a nice photo - or you could always drive by.

Wow! What a farm! Looks like the array is pointed toward the Gulf of Mexico. I can't find any info on the site, but since you brought it up, I'll Keep looking.
Thanks Walt,
