Are there still plans to get xDax and xCat working for version 3 of SSDR?

I'm sure interested in this! I'm holding off upgrading to v3 until I can have DAX and CAT working on the Mac.

I quit using the Mac for digital modes after xDax and xCat quit working.  It just seems cumbersome to work without these two programs.

It’s certainly possible to keep on using a Mac and digital with v3, but you’ll need to fork over about $200 in extra software, like MacLoggerDX, dogparkSDR, and LoopBack, to do it. And even then, I miss xDax and xCat :-( I’ll just keep using v2 - Windows is not a full-time option here.

I have emailed Mario and will update this thread if/when I hear back from him. I offered to update the programs myself if he is willing to give me the source code.

    hi pete

i think besides Marios code also need libraries that doug k3tzn developed to make it all work... i do not know if doug has up dated libraries for V3...

i know he was in transition of QTH when this all happened

    https://github.com/DougPA/xSDR6000

doug developed a nice mac interface that looks like and operates like windows ssdr...does work with v2 and mac mojave

Yes, I am using Doug's library in my Voice Keyer for Mac. It has been updated for V3. Actually 2.5 but that works on V3 with a single client.

    hi pete

    Great...
i hope you can connect with Mario...
as i too do miss using xdax/xcat
    and
    running all native mac apps.

when i get home sick for all-mac i just drop back to ssdr v.2.4.9
    but
i do like running ssdr v3.1.x too

    Oh by the way
i have used your vx keyer....nice job....so just wanted to say thanks for that too...

Paul, I am assuming you never heard back from Mario.  I sure do miss that software.  Sure did make using DogparkSDR easy with the digital modes.

    Hi there,

good news.. I'm actively testing the upgraded versions for xCAT and xDAX now.. So it's coming closer.. There is still some work for the IQ streams to do.. I'm interested: who is using IQ streams with xDAX?

Woo Hoo!  Thanks Mario!  Can't wait to get back to using my Mac for the digital modes.

I am not using IQ streams in my setup at this time.

I  DO NOT use the IQ stream in mac environment. The reason being not any Mac ham related s/w that uses IQ data stream.

Only time i use IQ data steam would be in Virtual PC to run cw-skimmer
    and
i would be using ssdr dax/cat in virtual windows environment which is also running cw-skimmer.

keep up the good work Mario....

us mac users do really appreciate the effort required and
    especially your great works.

    thanks again
    Paul  K3SF

    ps...
there are lots of us who be willing alpha/beta tester including me.

I/Q would be great, and might even inspire CW Skimmer style software for MacOS!

Mario contacted me to do some testing...
    and
it is going very well at the moment...

I have been able to run ssdr 3.1.8 on 6600m with two instances of wsjtx..
    and
i have fldigi/flrig also working with it

this is running on multiple mac mini with macos10.14.6
    and
    i do use Loopback v2

i will be doing more stress testing for mario in the next couple of days by running it in multi-flex setup.

Mario is doing an awesome job

Mario once again has done a great job.

i have been testing for Mario too on my 6600m.
with multiple mac mini's and macbook pro...with macos 10.14.6 and 10.13.6

i have had it running with two instances of wsjtx ft8 on different bands...just lie before ...smooth operations

an to put it to real life test...
    i chased VP8PJ on 40m FT8
with one slice ft8 in f/h mode and the the other slice in regular FT8 mode

i have include a short video...using ipad and multi mac minis an front panel of 6600m..
all four slice of 6600m going...
