Any news on the work of remote Winkeyer sidetone?

I was travelling this week and spent quite some time with remote CW. I really like my new 6600M but remote operation with CW leaves much to be desired.

I tried VPN with N1MM in CWT. Used the canned function key messages, but no sidetone. Very much like flying blind.

Then I tried WKremote which gives me a local sidetone, but before it is actually sent.

I know there is a remoterig solution, where the speaker out is sent back to the client. I think this is a good solution. But before I invest in this, it would be nice to know whether FRS is implementing this natively. I understand the mentioned issues with latency, but I would rather have a solution with latency than none.

Is there something in the works from FRS for remote Winkeyer/CW/Sidetone or is this so far off I should roll my own?

You can send if sidetone is not in sync with paddle closures.  This is the latency that is hard to overcome without some sort of hardware generating sidetone, not the latency between paddle closure and when RF is sent.  This is why the Maestro has a built-in hardware Winkeyer.
