Antenna Genius VP Setup

I have two sites connected with a routed VPN. Home site is 192.168.1.x. Remote site is 192.168.101.x

From the remote site I can connect to the Flex radio using SmartLink. The radio can see the PGXL so that's all good. (Using SmartLink because I have a routed and not a bridged VPN)

Problem is how to set up the AG client? Using the "Remote Devices" tab I entered the IP address of the AG. The AG Client appears to connect to the AG on the home subnet. But when I go to the "Configure Flex Radios" tab there are no radios to choose from. I tried manually entering the Serial Number of the radio, but no joy. The "Configure Device" tab shows correct antenna configurations, so I'm pretty sure the client is actually connected to the AG.

To summarize: Radio and AG are on the 192.168.1.x subnet. SSDR running in SmartLink mode and the AG client are on the 192.168.101.x subnet. How do I get the AG client to see the radio?

(note: I'm on AG firmware 3.0.8 because the newer firmware has a bug working with two radios. I'm on SSDR 2.6.1 because DXLab didn't recommend SSDR 3.x last time I checked)

The AG Client "Remote Devices" Tab needs to have the IP address or DDNS name of the Router the AG is physically connected to and you also need to port forward port 9007 in the router where the AG is connected.
Your local side works to the AG's IP address because it connects via the VPN.

I hope I understood the question correctly.

Larry, which software versions are you running? I'll try your suggestion but not sure how that'll change things since it appears my AG client can see the AG. It just can't see the radio.

From the 4o3a web site there appears to be a beta version of software 3.1.3 that implements a direct connect between the AG and the radio. I'll also give that a try if I can get it uploaded into the AG.

Hi Asher,  I am running all the latest firmware versions in 6600, AG, AG App etc.
From your first post, I am "assuming" all is ok using the VPN side of things and you see the AG and radio info fine?
The AG Client (via Remote DevicesTab) will never see the radio unless the AG is port forwarded back to you so that it can show up in the devices list on the AG App (The same as it does via the VPN connection now)   Then you can plug in (and SAVE) the radios serial number in the "configure Flex Radio" setup page of the AG App..

I should mention that I cannot see the Flex Radio listed in the AG App devices page here at the "Client " end of the connection..  I had to set up the AG configuration at the location of the AG itself where the AG does show up in the AG App  Flex Radio Setup page.

That narrows things down. I suspect the AG client gets the radio's IP address from local, non routable multicasts and probably remembers the address when you're on your VPN. I'll try the 4o3a beta software and see if that gets me anywhere. Supposedly that software does the radio detection in the AG instead of in the client. Frustrating! Seems like a pretty limited use case for the AG client "remote" tab if you have to commission the client at the home site.

Good news! V3.1.3 beta works remote when I manually type in the radio serial number. Problem solved for now.
