Hi all,

I want to bring to your attention that I have found a way to Listen to my own voice from the new 1.6 DAX Mic audio stream on my PC using VB-Audio "VoicemeeterPro" virtual audio mixer software (Donationware), I was also able to route 2 DAX channels as well, this virtual mixer gives you full control in routing the configured I/O audio channels in many different ways, you can also rout a Skype caller or any other desktop audio to your Mic input.

It has its own parametric EQ and a 5 channels recorder that can save any or all of the selected on the PC.

You can mute any channel and/or record them if you wish so you can have a full TX/RX session recording, all from the VoicemeeterPro (Banana) control panel.

By the way you don't have to be in Remote mode to do that.

Its user manual is excellent and there are many videos on YouTube.

I know for sure that some one with more audio expertise could take this much further that me.

Enjoy

Hi Ali,

This is a really nice mixer, thanks for the link.

Does it allow the L & R channels to be controlled separately.  Reason for asking is I was trying to record WWV on L channel and something else on the right. I tried even at the Win 10 sound control panel but no luck.  Be that as it may it's a cool app

Yes Tim,  You have to right click on the INTELLIPAN to display the L&R channels position control.

Hi Ali,

Thanks for pointing this out.  The right click cycles thru several interesting options.
I was able to record the L + R from different DaX channels without any problems.

This is a nice app...

With Regards,

Hi Charles,

I am still learning and had some issues, once I clear these sporadic conflicts with the I/O audio routing, I will post my findings with a proper setup.  I hope others who tried it might be able to help out.

I did manage hocking up my PC Mic headset to Hardware INPUT 1, DAX RX1 at INPUT 2 and DAX RX2 at INPUT 3,  for the A1 Hardware OUT I used the headset speakers, in SmartSDR you have to use PC microphone,   Set VoiceMeeter as the Default Playback device and Your PC Mic as the Default Recording Device.

you must set the advanced settings for the Playback & Recording audio device drivers of the Voicemeeter and its virtual cables to 48000 HZ to mach the Playback & Recording for the DAX Audio drivers.

Wish you good luck.

Charles, I hope this drawing should give you a good idea.  Added Skype and Windows player, now you could have some cool background music with Skype or even mixed with SSB transmission.
