I started up my W10 PC and 6500 running V2.0.19 this morning and couldn't get my logging program to follow the radio.  After a bit of looking I noticed all but 2 of my CAT ports were missing from the Smart SDR CAT display panel.  I tried restarting the PC and radio but no joy.  All the ports show up as usual in the "Device Manager".

I'm puzzled as to how that information could get lost?  My W10 PC didn't do any updates yesterday or this morning so it must have been a hiccup I guess.

So what is the best way to recover?  Should I just go ahead and add the missing CAT ports or is there some procedure I can do that'll bring them back?

It sounds like your CAT.settings file became corrupted and a new default settings file was created.  You can't bring them back; you have to recover by doing a virtual com port reset to remove the "orphaned" virtual com ports.

Open the CAT application.  Place your mouse cursor over the REMOVE button and right mouse click.  Select the option "Reset FlexVSP Ports".  Wait about 15-20 seconds.  Close Cat and reopen it..  Now you can recreate the CAT ports you have defined previously.
