Using Air 2 Ipad with the IOS SmartSDR app. I bought a certified refurbished Air 2 from Best Buy for 239 dollars.  Arrived today and it works great. No issues. Very pleased with the the refurb Ipad.

I traded my IPad Air 2 (WiFi 64GB Space Grey) in at Best Buy and received almost the same price for what you paid. Very Interesting! You are right, SmartSDR operated just fine on it. I do like running it on my IPad Pro better.

I am having problems with getting VPN to work with Ipad air 2
Using OpenVPN app connecting to my netgear R7000 router with built in VPN
I only had it work sort once at a grocery store and it was slow.
It won't connect at Public library at all , at two pirvate homes the VPN would connect but
did not see the Flex 6500 , any ideas on what to try?

Try SoftEther (using their built in LT2P server). I've never had any issue VPNing home from public wifi spots using SoftEther LT2P.

EDIT: Is your home router on a 192.168.1.x subnet? If so, read this:

AGREED. I have several different iPad models including an Aur2.

All work flawlessly using built in L2TP and SoftEther
