AGC Persistence issue with my 6500?

When I change from FM to SSB my AGC changes to “MED”.

Example: If I have the rig in SSB on 40m and the AGC is set to FAST, If I switch to FM then back to SSB the AGC changes to MED?

Does this happen to any else?

Have you tried making a profile for both cases?

Yep - same here - put the slice on Fast AGC USB, go to FM, then back to USB and I am in MED AGC.  Radio is getting senile.

I have reported a similar problem when I go to a memory channel of another band (say JT65 on 40 meters) and then I go back to 20 meters JT65 band , the slice mode switches to CW (instead of the previous DIGU) and I end up on some other freq. - usually 14.028 instead of the previous 14.076.

Called in a help desk ticket and they found some bug with the mode that they could duplicate, and so its on their list.  They could not get it to jump frequencies like my 6500 does, but who knows maybe its just my radio that does that.

Cheers !    By now it time for a (another) pint.

Oh well so it's a BUG. Well I'm sure it will get fixed soon...

A few things.  Walt, just a small point of clarification.  Your HD ticket did not indicate you had a  confirmed bug, but the behavior could be a possible software defect and it was being investigated further.

Second.  Persistence is band-centric, not mode-centric.  Meaning if you change modes but not bands, the only parameter that is persisted in the RX filter.  If you changed bands and set up a different mode and then switched back to the previous band, then the slice parameters are persisted.
