After the "Tim" bible of uninstalling all com ports, uninstall of SSDR 1.11.12, No Joy

After the most recent Winblows 10 update, my normally flawless com port configuration went to lunch and has yet to return. I've gone to the letter of Tim's "bible" notes of uninstalling ghosted ports, hidden ports, and all others except for my Com 1 and the LPT port. Uninstalled all SSDR versions, the Flex VSP stuff, manually dumped folders and registry entries where possible. Rebooted PC, installed SSDR 1.11.12. Keep in mind I've done this thrice in the last 4 days. I keep getting the fabulatech ports in the "other" slot, not properly installed. A "repair" of the Flex VSP doesn't fix anything and I cannot configure a new port from the Cat 1.11.12 since when I try and save a chosen port, for either slice on the 6300, it fails to complete.  The most recent update was 11/14 (KB4048955)  Any Help??  Radio still connects fine on lan but I can't run any of my usual  digital stuff since there are no usable vsp's.  Here's a pic:image

    Jim,
    I had the same,

    Dudley helped me with this.
    https://helpdesk.flexradio.com/hc/en-us/articles/205665325-How-to-Repair-the-FlexVSP-Virtual-Serial-...

    And this,
Also when the SmartCAT window comes up,  RIGHT click the "Remove"  button on the lower right corner of the SmartCAT console window,  then left click the "Reset FlexVSP ports"    this will take several minutes , so please give it plenty of time to run.

    I also needed this.

Here is an UpDate on What I've Done:
    Problem#1
Before we go any further, I wand you to know one thing that I found out this morning, and that is, the versions of SSDR on the site now are NOT the same as the versions I have on my machine(s) in that they are a different size!!  1.11.12 on the site is  listed as 51.5 meg. and 2.0.19 is also listed as 51.6 meg.
On my drive(s) here I have both versions as 52.735, and 52.824 meg each respectively.
As such, the version(s) at 51 meg would not bring in the Flex VSP at all.

    Problem #2
For some reason, after doing the entire sequence of ghosted and hidden ports removal, all of the program uninstalls, folder removals, registry removals, restart yada yada yada, restarts, I could verify that all was gone. So far, so good. Re-install of 1.11.12 installs with no apparent hitch, until I look at the Device Manager again Here's what I find:

So, I see that the ports are installed(but not really), not only in a different place, but not actually correctly or completely installed. Keep in mind that, up till the most recent update if Win10 (KB4048955)Build 1709 I believe, all goes well and I'm up n running no sweat.
No less that four times I did the entire sequence with the same result every time, until I decided on something a little different. I went to the "Windows insiders" group that I have been lurking around in for a few years now, and I find a new recently release, Preview version (I'll call it 1724) if memory serves. Long story short ;) I installed it, re-started, smoothed it out a little, Installed 1.11.12 SSDR and NO Ports...because I installed the 51 meg version. Started over with uninstall of SSDR, restarted, installed the 52.735meg 1.11.12 version, and not only did the ports return, but they also were properly installed in the right place.

Sorry for the long rant but I thought I had some good information that would be useful to those who have run across the same problem and yet another fix. Thanks a Whole bunch to all those at Flex and the Community for the help and assistance in the world of "Flex" I continue to "Tune in excitement".
