6600 Power Up Issue

My 1 year old Flex 6600 has started to act up recently.  It will not power up (solid green power light) anytime a 10mhz external reference is connected to the back of the radio.  When power button is pressed it flashes green for 1-2 minutes then I get 1 red flash repeating.  Manual says it's a fan issue.   I removed all cables from back of radio to troubleshoot and noticed the radio would power up without any cables connected.  As soon as I hook up the external 10Mhz Ref it's back to 1 red flash???   My external ref appears to be working fine.  I have it hooked up to my shack computer as well via RS232 and it shows it locked and has 12-14 Sats in view.  When I have more time after work today I will Oscope the 10mhz and do some further troubleshooting.  For the time being the radio is booting on the internal TCXO.  Just curious if anyone else has seen this issue?
