I had terrible TX audio from my FHM-1 microphone. Was so bad people could not understand what I was saying. Changed to a new mic, keeping the coiled cable, and all was OK. It was either the connector or the cheap element. So my suggestion is to try another microphone to see if this helps. For me it did!

Good work so far. Very helpful.
Can you do the following tests please. We want to make sure we have this as simple as possible.- Turn all EQ off
- Transmit via the XVTR port in an antenna
- Turn COMP off
- Make sure that voice peaks are about 80% of full scale. The peak level should never turn red.
Let's see if your audio still sound poor.
Please let me know how you make out.

Lasse, this does not apply, as he is using a Radio sport headset.0

Mike is giving you good help.
If you could get on the air with some of us we could get you fixed up in no time. Then we could hear what is going on.0 -
One thing to watch out for is RF getting into the radio. Toroid cores on the ethernet cable is not a bad idea.
