In attempting to upgrade from 3.1.7. to 3.1.8. on my PC, I get a note that my Windows Defender Security Center has blocked the upgrade.  I have turned off the network firewall, with no luck.  What other change should I make?  Thanks for any help.

After you know all spy ware and defenders are off, try rebooting your computer, recheck all those things are off and try installing again.

    You can:

    1) Make an exception in Windows Defender

    2) Temporarily stop Windows Defender

Bill and kd5foy:  I am a MAC guy using a Windows Intel NUC just for SSDR, so don't really know what I'm doing.  Went into Windows Defender Security Center and turned off everything in sight.  After rebooting, the upgrade then worked like a charm.  Thanks for the help.

windows defender and windows firewall are different applications.  temporarily disable windows defender to get it installed.
