Been running a Flex 5000A for a couple of years and now have a 6300 running 1.11.12

Question 1    Startup time from pressing Power key to solid green indicator is 50 seconds...is that usual?

Question 2    The RF Power and SWR meters......I have trouble seeing the red pointers...is there any way to change the colour?

Thanks   Roger  G0IUW

Hi Roger,
Regarding question 2 - NO, but this idea / request has been in the queue for a few years. You can add your comments and vote if you would like to see it done.

Hi! It does take a bit to power up. I guess it's got several computers to boot and get sync'd.
There is/was an add-on S-meter from Woodbox radio that works very well. I haven't used it in a while, but if you like needle type S-meters, its a possibility.  Have fun!  Phill (WB3DHF)

There are two different programs that I have used for meters...
BobSmeter, and Flex-meter.
You may need to google them to find them.

Here is an interesting one. I am actually commuting to work this time on smartsdr/ios using SmartLink and listening to Masa (JE1LET) working stateside but also streaming to YouTube with FlexMeter on the shack Radio PC.

1. Yes this is normal
2. No, not yet. The iOS app does have alternative colors, however.

FRStack for Flex has a very readable S meter.  You may want to try it.
