TGXL Frequency Tracking.

I have recently noticed that my TGXL, although tracking extremely well on the majority of bands, displaying the exact frequency selected by the tuning knob, front panel display, and on computer screen, has developed a rather irritating quirk, whereby it is not displaying the EXACT frequency demanded. For example, on 18MHz, I select 18.130.000, and the TGXL will show 18.130.001!! If I QSY in for example 5KHz increments, the last three digits show, .051, .099, .150, .199, in other words somewhat random......

Has anyone else noticed this quirk? It is disconcerting as I am sure it has not always been the case. I have cold-booted the 6600M, tried calibration using the 10MHz in-board Xtal, and cold booted the TGXL, but same sort of result.

Is it possible that the LAN connection is not showing it's true color?. Any ideas?

I am seeing same thing here. I will write up the bug report on this.

It does not impact proper operation of the tuner as the frequency is very close to the actual operating frequency and the tuner will use the closest tuning match.

    Thanks for the report.

I am so glad that you have the same issue and took the time to reply! I totally agree that it does not impair the superb operation of the TGXL.

Many thanks, and I am sure you have all the necessary “clout” to establish a good solution with the bug-solving wizards in the fullness of time.

    Hi Mike.

It has been reported and verified by other Alpha testers as well.

    Thanks for the report.
