Record off the air and Playback over the air is a current feature of SmartSDR.  To do long recordings you want to keep on separate media, use DAX and install wave file recorder software to store the file.  Then copy it off in whatever file format you want.

Elam, I record all the time using Audacity. You can also record from your Mike and make voice keyer files to use in contest programs or use K9DUR's Voice Keyer program.

I don't believe, however, SmarSDR has the feature of making IQ recordings. I really enjoy "tapinig" a band during the night and listening to it while I drive to work or take long walks.
