NEW to smartsdr, Microphone NO AUDIO OUT, microphone ok , PTT ok

I searched this forum , I read smartsdr manual ( partially ) where you setup TX and microphone setup. I changed different microphone INPUT options ( PC, MIC, ACC ) none works , I plugged my MIC into MIC input of 8400 and PTT into PTT . I have Mic model : MH-31 .
there is no profile for this so I use all DEFAULT. PTT work and and when I start talking no audio. I saw many people have same issue. what is the problem ?

Some possibilities:

1. Turn BIAS OFF (Crucial for the MH-31)The Yaesu MH-31 is a dynamic microphone. It contains a voice coil that does not use or want electrical power.

• Go to the top menu bar in SmartSDR and select Settings > Radio Setup.
• Click on the Phone/CW tab.
• Make sure Bias is turned OFF.

2. Enable "+20 dB Boost"Dynamic microphones like the MH-31 have a much lower native output level than the electret microphones.

• In that same Phone/CW menu tab (Settings > Radio Setup), locate the +20 dB Boost checkbox.
• Check this box to turn it ON.
• Without this preamp boost, your signal is likely too quiet.

3. Use only "MIC" input source

/did not work. I tried your settings. I am in canada and region says USA . does it matter ?

Not for audio. I would open a Help Desk ticket for this issue as well as one to get a TURF file for Canada.

I did 2 days ago iopened ticket and no help from the Help Desk . looks like the making TURF file by hand and will take couple of weeks.

Just check by logging in again and look at your open ticket. I just had no apparent reply but actually it was there. Maybe not for you but worth looking if you haven't done so already. Normally they are quick to answer.

@Jacek J This video, while a bit dated, will help you out with some of the basic setup as it runs through some of the common features/commands. And, we don't update our GUI that often, so that still makes it helpful.

BTW, it sounds like you have BIAS turned off or a defective Mic.
