What version of AG do I have ?

I acquired an AG 8x2 Plus, serial number 211101/16. This doesn't appear to be the usual AG. Next to each antenna port there is a green and red LED. There is also a 9 pin connector on top labeled "AB switch control". On the bottom are the usual connectors and 8 position DIP switch.

Considering all the FW, HW and SW versions over the years, I'm a little hesitant to just plug it into the LAN and see what happens. Who knows - it could brick it.

My specific questions are:

1. How do I figure out what version I have ?
2. What SW will work with this HW and version ?
3. I want to connect it to my 192.168.2.x network. What is the process with DIP switch 8 and my 192.168.2.1 router doing DHCP ?
4. Which manual is the right manual for this version ?

Hi Steve,

The AG hardware v2 has four RCA connectors and the green A/B connector on one end. The other end has power, OM Module, network and two 15 pin Pint to port/BCD connectors. There are green and red LEDs next to each antenna port to show if the port is in use by the A or B "radio".

Also, you can compare your AG to the 1.2.1 manual pictures. If it matches the pictures it is a v1 AG.

If not it is a v2 and you can upgrade it to v4.1.16 firmware.

It's neither a v1 or v2. Close to the one pictured in https://4o3a.com/images/downloads/antenna_genius/documentation/archive/AntennaGenius_User_Manual_v3.1.5.pdf

but it doesn't have the 4 RCA connectors and green A/B connector. Definitely not a v1 AG.

It's a unicorn.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have it working with the AG 3.1.5 Windows app. The first thing it did was demand a firmware upgrade, which proceeded without incident. All looks good. It appears that my version has a 9 pin RS-232 connector on top, instead of the 4 RCA connectors. The device info says hardware version 2.0.

ok, be advised the API is different between firmware v3 and v4.
