Remote feeding of the 520-m
Hello everyone, I would like to install the 520-m in the basement of the house to save a bit of space on the desk. I have a 220-volt outlet installed in this basement, and I control it with a manual switch. I understand that the RCA remote is meant to turn the transceiver on and off remotely, but I don’t understand how to do the wiring. If you have any ideas, I’m all ears.

I believe you just want to close the connection between the shell and the center pin of the RCA. Any dry-contact relay that you can control remotely should do what you want. Do note that it isn't momentary. When the circuit is closed, the unit will power up, and will remain on for as long as the circuit is closed. When the circuit goes open, it will gracefully shutdown and go into standby mode. I think you might need to enable the Remote On feature.
I'm new to Flex, so grain of salt required.0 -

i haven’r looked at 220v switches but I am sure they are just as available as the 120v ones. I got one from Amazon, I am just using it over Wifi for my TGXL. I don’t use the rca connector, just switch the power with a $15 amazon wifi switch.

Yes close the connection. I HIGHLY suggest shielded wire and some RFI clip ons if you are running the wire some distance.
And note, you have to enable the Remote On in the software so it is active.

Andre The remote on assumes the line power (120 or 240) is already connected. The remote on feature is equivalent to pressing the power button on the Flex radio. In remote operations, a wireless (wi-fi) remote controlled switch is used to open or close the connection on the back of the flex, thereby simulating the front panel button.. Some also use a similar switch to turn the AC power On or Off separately from the remote on switch.
