Current SmartLink Login Issues - Resolved

We are aware of issues with logging into our SmartLink service that impacts all versions of Smart SDR. Our engineers are working on this, and we will post an update when we have additional information.
We apologize for the inconvenience.

We found where the problem lies. The issue impacts all Windows SmartSDR clients, but not those running an iOS client. We will continue to work on the problem and post regular updates. This will be the last update for tonight.
Again, we apologize for the outage.

Update:
Our engineers have been working non-stop on this and have isolated the problem to a change in encryption parameters required by our OAuth security vendor. Unfortunately, the fix requires a client-side code change and cannot be mitigated by our cloud services. Currently, a desktop version of SmartSDR that addresses this is out to our alpha testers.
This issue does not affect local network (non-SmartLink) operations.
Engineering has now shifted to produce a build that solves this on the Maestro platform. We anticipate having that out to our alpha group soon. When engineering releases that to alpha, I will update this thread.
We are committed to getting this fix deployed and into your hands as quickly as possible. There will be more detailed information to share as this incident moves forward.

Not much more we can share at the moment as the hurtle we are working on is the QA testing and the packaging. It isn't glamourous and somewhat tedious work.
This continues to be our top priority.

Update:
We reported earlier that our alpha team is testing SmartSDR v3 for Windows desktops. The reports from that group are good. Our engineering team continues working on the remaining three releases required to resolve this outage, SmartSDR v2 for Windows desktops and the corresponding releases for Maestro/M models.
Here are some additional details:
Last year, our OAuth provider notified us that security protocols would be changing. Therefore, in addition to server-side changes, we implemented the radio firmware and client code necessary to support them and believed we had verified compatibility.
Earlier this year, we received another deprecation notice and took a second look at the work we performed last year, concluding we were in good shape. However, we were not and missed a .NET client library update.
So, the client-side code changes involve a Windows .NET library and runtime upgrade. The two SmartSDR for Windows releases (for v3 and v2) are straightforward, use the same basic upgrade pattern but will need to be alpha tested before we can release them. Maestro/M models require, in addition to the code library change, upgrades to the embedded Windows operating system before installing updated .NET runtimes.
We have identified all of the work items necessary for each update path, and we are working on them through the weekend. Unlike previous releases, we anticipate a staggered release schedule for the two SmartSDR for Windows desktop versions and each Maestro/M model version. However, the release strategy is still a bit fluid, so that may change.
We are meeting Monday morning to discuss the release status, and we will provide the community with more release details Monday afternoon.

Update:
There are not many details to report today, but work continues with progress along all workstreams and the alpha team continuing their tests on the v3 alpha release. Nothing material has changed in the release strategy, communicated to you in the report on Saturday. We will continue to provide updates as information becomes available.

Update:
Over the past two days, we have released two alpha versions of both Smart SDR v3 and V2 for Windows desktop clients. The feedback from the alpha testing team is excellent, especially with the latest version.
We are coordinating efforts towards multiple general releases. I don't have a release date to share this update, other than to say - as soon as possible, and the desktop versions will be released first.
Again, we sincerely apologize for the SmartLink disruption and appreciate your patience as we work through this outage.

Update on SmartSDR being released.

SmartSDR for Windows v3.2.37 and v2.7.5 have been released which addresses the SmartLink login issue. Please note that the updated Maestro and SmartSDR for M models (front panel software) have not been released yet. We are still working on getting the fixes for SmartLink integrated into those devices and a consolidated release for SmartSDR for Windows, the Maestro, and the M model radio will be forthcoming. Please see the Release Announcement for additional details.

We have been making good progress on getting the SmartLink fix applied to the Maestro and SmartSDR for the M models. This particular update has been challenging but we have been working through the issues successfully. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, we expect to have the new code in alpha testing soon. Once the software completes alpha testing, a new software version will be prepared for release. Stay tuned for additional updates.

Current Status - Wednesday May 26th, 2021
From an M model and Maestro status, we have the SmartLink issue solved. :)
The challenge today is the automation of the installer to ensure that the process of updating your Maestro and your M model is fully functional and takes into account what happens if things go wrong like power failures, loss of network/internet issue as well as a few other concerns that we have considered.
Each one of these takes time to test. Lots of time. Each test has to be executed on a customer-like platform, not one we have previously been testing on. Yes, we use tools like VM's, etc. Final testing has to happen on newly imaged devices and then once stable, we will share it with the Alpha team.
We are still hoping to get a release out as quickly as possible, but it is likely we will not make it this week in time for WPX. We will not release a major fix such on a Friday and certainly not on a Friday of a long weekend in the US. We normally release fixes early in the week so that we have a full support/engineering team available if required.
We wanted to give you a heads up that if you require your Maestro to work WPX CW this weekend that you start looking at an alternative solution.
For remote operations, SmartSDR for Windows is fully functional. You can also run N1MM for your CW keying or make use of the CWX feature of the radio in SmartSDR. This will limit your ability to hand send and for that, we are sorry.
FRS will keep you informed as things progress as we have not taken our foot off the gas pedal in working to a resolution.

Status of SmartSDR on M models and Maestro (May 27, 2021 AM).
As a reminder, the following setups function normally on all models:
SmartSDR for Windows
SmartSDR for MAC
SmartSDR for iOS
DogPark SDR
All non-SmartLink connections
Not currently working:
SmartLink via Maestro to any radio
Upgrading any M model to 3.2.37 (previous versions work fine) via the front panel
Customers that run their M model from desktop SSDR, can upgrade the radio part of the M model (from the desktop).
You will not be able to use the M from the front panel if they do upgrade to 3.2.37
